First light, well first clear spell of light, clear as in no snow flurry/stair rods of rain, Preston was given a full ceremonial funeral with Berners as honour guard.
A "small" cairn was placed over him, he's next to his sister so they can cause trouble in the after life as they did here.
Next was the road repairs, the 7 years of rain has caused pot holes
that are capable of wrecking most suspensions fitted to most vehicles.
Naturally I had help, not to ferry barrow loads of gravel 500 metres to the worst parts
but to play with the big boys toys. The apprentice was kitted out in full foul weather gear, its Hi-Vis so we won't ever lose him. By lunchtime the weather changed from bad to appalling, I had put up with snow, rain, heavy rain, horizontal rain and high winds but when it changed to thunder and hail I gave up and consoled myself by watching the first two games of the 6 Nations. But watching France steal the game made me wish I had stayed outside.

Flippin' rugby - almost as bad as the cricket. Although to be fair, our performance gives hope for the remainder of the series whereas Wales looked tired and their defence was not as good as it should have been.
We've laid 26 tons of stone to stop the almost constant flow of water down the drive, or at least channel it elsewhere. Needs one more 13 ton load around the car parking area. I reckon the EA could learn from our flood management approach.[you can't beat nature, especially when you've cocked it up through climate change].
