Breakfast with altitude

The apprentice and RRMK2 have on their bucket list climb Snowdon so before that monster hill was beaten yours truly thought best get a smaller on under their belts.
So laden like a pack horse on the hottest day of the year
we parked at the quiet end of the Brecon Beacons, did our stretches,
paused by the life size soldier cut out (Im old enough to remember when this green place was in fact an army camp)
and set off up the hill, objective, breakfast on the summit of Pen Y Fan.

The conditions were perfect,
and after many handfuls of jelly sweets the final peak was in sight.
The views were worth the effort and I was looking forward to walking back with a much lighter back pack once the gang had eaten most of the contents.
The apprentice ridge walking .
Final sit down
before last bit of climb.
Here we go.
As usual the summit had hoardes waiting to get the summit pic, here is ours.

Then I put on my chefs hat and knocked out 4 bacon rolls and all day breakfasts.  As we had run out of frothy coffee Richard and I ,made do with an ice cold Guiness.
Waiting for his scoff.
View from the breakfast bar.
RRMK2 tucking in to his, 10 seconds later nearly launched himself off the cliff as a wasp flew by him.
The way back was quicker and easier but 10 million flying ants nearly spoiled the trip. Run everyone! Here a happy Haribo face.
The face of a mountaineer considering the distance from here to car.
Bear Gryls uses this man as a role model.
Safe home and ready for Snowdon.
