Massive Wagons

After much faff we were able to get to the gig

but MBAOSPW didn't make it as her fibromyalgia flared up and Dale had to drive us which is a real experience. 

Great gig again.

Good view.

Baz funny as ever.

Its a jungle in here

The jungle project is going well

for the warhammer game with the scouts 

needless to say the apprentice and rug rat mk2 have stepped away from the project leaving yours truly to try and get it done in time!
 

Helping hand

No surprise what happened when the snow melted ably assisted by 150mm of torrential rain, floods. Massive amounts of water drained off the bonsai mountain onto the runway and into the stables and as the equines are stupid enough to pooh on the new drain it was blocked thus compounding the problem.

Which is why yours truly and broken left elbow was outside trying to prevent the water getting inside.

Probably not the best activity to be involved in while waiting for bones to knit together but in the absence of a life raft the horses needed help.

Lucky for me the apprentice came along to find out where his father had got to, the last he had heard was "I'm going outside I may be some time", he thinking yours truly was safe in the games room was surprised to find me up to my knees in watery horse doings brandishing a rake.

The two of us cleared the drain and within minutes the horses were no longer swimming, just damp. 
 

Its going..

Heavy rain is due so this is going to be a dull wet day

which is why yours truly avoided the perils of granola and settled himself at the greasy spoon for a proper feast. 

Back at the ranch the pups are growing at a remarkable pace

and the battle for the new dog bed continues.

Current winner is Maive, for whom the bed was intended,
 

but she has serious competition. 

Snow business

Unlike other areas of the UK our snow decided to stay around another 24 hours and in glorious sunshine it was time for another cautious patrol over the ice 

to see the views

with Spotty2

Sven again

and Darcy.

Top of the bonsai mountain was super if a little windy

but we pressed on

taking in the whole 360

of snowscape.

It was quite deep in places .

At 5 ways we took the short route back

down sheepskull lane on the darkside of the bonsai mountain which today was as beautiful as the rest.
 

Its snowtime!

How can this have been a week ago?

But yes a week ago the first of the white stuff fell in the early hours 

and by lunchtime we had our own winter wonderland to play in.

Hence a walk out with 3 snow firstimers, Ivy, Teah and Cleo with snow veteran Sven.

Ivy went more mental than others

and after a long slog we made it to the summit cairn.

Not satisfied with this 

Sven insisted 

as did Ivy

and Teah

that we bag another summit and head over to the ridge

and soon we made the second summit

heading back via the monkey puzzle trees

which looked splendid

and as it was getting colder

we headed back via the whet stone 

which hadnt wandered off for a drinl like legend has it 

and made it back to HQ

where the lane was now nearly impassable, which left us wondering how we would get the kids home from school.

Lucky for them 

Angus the 4x4 made it.
