wet wet wet

The apprentice had a day off school so his teachers could be trained so after spending the day in our newer and bigger icanfoster office pretending to be be in charge
we went for a swim
in a pool in the town, a secret pool, and surprisingly clear and clean. I found out about it from a women's wild water swim team called The Blue Tits, so it seemed like a good place for the Numb Joy team to assemble and test the water.
It was
brilliant
and very very cold.
But the apprentice loved it.
As a treat we had a pizza before heading home.

Pick a window

The plan for a mad dash to Ben Nevis for a team day was scratched once the weather forecast was heard
and after many alternatives explored
there seemed to be a chance of a weather window
on the Rhinogs, and so we went for it.
And lo! we had sunshine
not wall to wall or in Keeeefs case fall to fall
sunshine
but lots of it
which is a good thing on a mountain like
the Rhinog.
At times the weather closed in
and waterproofs were needed
and on the descent it rained hard
but
by the time
we got to the chosen lunch stop
it was back to sunshine
team selfie
no real dogs were on this expedition
So as this was a team building day
it was time for
a wild water swim.
My team mates had the luxury of wet suits
which were very flattering as well as warm
whereas yours truly manned up and wore t shirt and shorts as usual.
It was refreshing
and reminded us of how lucky we were not to be aquatic animals.
Back on dry land a rainbow heralded the end of the adventure. Til the next one.

Party on

RRMK2 has achieved 9 years, and doing a great impression of being a nerd reading his new Dungeons and Dragons book
which he reluctantly put down for his first ever party
and he and his crew had a wild time
partying until sunset.

On the Bonsai Mountain

They grow so fast

So here he is, the apprentice, first day as a year 7.

Not what I expected

So having spent the evening making and painting
a few shanty town models
I got up early and found this pig not here eating apples where she should be, but in the house having spent the night making herself quite at home. You might ask why yours truly did not A) hear her making said home and B) where are the photos? Well A) I did hear her and just put it down to burglars, or rather a big horse called Will.I.Am making a nuisance of himself outside and B) I took a quick video but when you are confronted by a huge pig in your house and the accompanying mess your first instinct is to get it out and clear it up. So great was the mess that any plans for the day were jettisoned.
But thanks to the sterling effort of myself and Keeef mid morning saw some hope of getting the days adventure done
and so we were at a different lake in bright sunshine staying out of the way of water skiers, and pigs.
