The end is just the beginning

So dear reader, the end of the 496 challenge hove into view, the last 3 days involved cycling 90km one third of which was in the dark on Tank bike which was sturdy enough to know any zombies out of the way.
The weather changed for the last 61km so arctic gear was required
as was a sense of humour to cope with the pretty extreme cold. This pic is a still from a video clip where for some reason I find it hilarious that I am on the summit of a hill in a blizzard.
The last day things went a bit awry as the front wheel bearing went on the bike which gave it a lovely crunching sensation as the wheel turned and then at the farthest point from home both front and rear tyre went flat. The realisation that yours truly would have to walk back pushing the crippled steed due to not being able to remove wheels thanks to fitting anti theft bolts and the spanner was not in the repair pack just added to the joy. But once home it was all over, 496km done, over 2/3 on foot.
Darcy was so pleased that she swept me off my feet.

Before rushing off
to get me a well earned beer!
So that is Januarys challenge done. February... the beginning of a new one.... a new day dawns....
