Game on!

The games room is not quite finished but its now a usable space
which is why RRMK2 is practicing being a snooker shark
and the apprentice is learning the finer points
of Space Hulk

The old and the new

This is Bala our oldest K9 meeting Roscoe our youngest.
Bala is a rescue dog who came to us to spend the last months of his life with us in comfort, poor old boy had been horribly mistreated and terminally ill had around 6 months left. That was 6 years ago and if estimates were correct he is now around 20 years old, he can manage about a 50 yard stagger before toppling sideways but he is a brave old dog and super friendly as long as you dont pull his fur.
Not quite sure what he ,made of Roscoe  but I'm sure he passed on some K9 wisdom. Roscoe needs that.

Waste not.....

As the ghost house has new owners who quite reasonably staked a claim to their own apples (although I think the tree is now an ex tree as they have demolished most of what was there including the lane) a different source of free autumnal goodies has to be sought to keep our girls happy.
Luckily there's a jolly decent chap, a non Steve, living a few miles away who makes cider from his orchard and he phoned asking if we, or rather, they, would like the leftovers. They were very happy being his waste disposal operators.

Floored

Its dry, they can come out now :)

Little horrors

This mud encrusted horror is Roscoe
and his partner in grime is Honey
and Bee who are supposed to be Golden Retrievers.  In their defence they were left unsupervised, for about 45 seconds, so decided to play in the mud bath by the stream.

The do polish up nicely though.

Floored

Work on the games room is almost reaching a crescendo, if a crescendo is half an hour here 1 hour there but the outside wall has been cleared to clad
and the lights have electric borrowed from a switch the other side of the wall until time is found to do it properly.
The floor has been laid, it was in fact the floor holding everything up, but then again thats the floors actual purpose.
The self levelling compound found a fairly level state and we await the chance to walk on it.

Lurking in the bushes

So for once we have a garden, its taken 2 years to get it back looking gardenish rather than battlefieldish but its happened and yours truly is particularly proud of his dahlias even if they are orange and not the purple and white ones that were planted. There are two surprising additions to this flower bed, One being the anti berner fence painted black to hide it from view, works surprisingly well. The second is the big black beastie trying to blend in the the background and hoping against hope his unwanted intrusion has not been spotted.
Busted he took off around the back of HQ and through the horse sized hole recently created and since mended. Until next time.....

weight gain

This is Roscoe in his chair the day he arrived at HQ ten days ago.

This is the same dog same chair 9 days later....... he's gonna need a sofa!

Surprise Surprise

Finding a Spitfire on the town roundabout
was not the biggest surprise of the weekend break in Blackpool
neither was the purveyor of must have souvenirs dogs not for sale the biggest surprise, no the biggest surprise of our lets celebrate Alex's
8th birthday with a birthday tea at the Blackpool Tower ballroom as seen on strictly, was not even the look on his face when the surprise was sprung, no the biggest
surprise was being told by the Hotel where we had booked and paid for our rooms that they had, for reasons they could not explain at all, cancelled our stay leaving 5 people stranded and very angry.
They managed to squeeze us in for one night
so we were able to enjoy our first day as planned
seeing sights like The North Pier, beach, part of the Golden Mile
with yours truly looking every inch a tourist.
The boys absolutely loved it
and went for a quick canter on the carousel with MBAOSPW leading the way.
We saw the sea, ate candy floss and did all the good stuff
before the highlight of the day
which didn't disappoint
the ballroom was very special
and we saw bits you don't get to see on the TV.
The birthday tea was more than we could manage
and RRMK2 learned the finer points of the t drinking ceremony.

Horse inspector

Its taking its time (time is not a commodity I have a lot of)
But the games room is finally looking like a room
with some major bits to go like the electrics
but the walls are done
the paints on
and its passed inspection by Will.I.Am

Diddley diddley

Its been a long time since yours truly has been to a live music event thanks to covid 19 hating music fans.
So it was great to risk permanent hearing loss once more by going to see my new favourite band
Massive Wagons who were simply amazing. And loud. Here is Stevie the happiest lead guitarist ever doing the compulsory diddley diddley bit in any heavy metal anthem.
