The break to my elbow could not have come at more inconvenient time, half term is always busy but we had planned an action packed break that included camping and water sports plus a few final fitness tests before the Gower Marathon. Instead we were lucky enough to get some R and R in New Quay at a friends caravan, and on arrival drinkies were served on the sun terrace.
Before heading
to the very busy beach
for a swim, or in my case a flounder around in the water which was very therapeutic on the bruising.
Borgi was a bit perplexed at the sudden change of scenery and gave it a disapproving look.
Morning broke and a coffee and cookie session on the terrace under the watchful eye of Nessa
while the Borgi was incapacitated by a rogue sunbeam.
A walk around the harbour was in order
watching the dolphins from the harbour walls.
The compulsory trip to the RNLI shop where we bought Christmas cards that we will never send.
Lunch was a bit traditional.
Late afternoon saw a walk to the beach
which was just brilliant.
And another swim, obviously.
The three amigos had a rock to perch on
todays colour chart.
Not happy swimming.
Sunday morning fight club.
Perfect weather again
and another trip tot he beach
this time to the far end
and at lunch time the apprentice did the airiel assault course.
Dinner was served
and naturally no holiday is complete without a model kit being made
or some form of board game.
Monday morning the weather broke and before returning home
the apprentice and I went for a walk and found these
great woodland paths
and pictureskew bridge.
He's now as tall as me!
We had the beach pretty much to ourselves so despite the fact we had no kit
we went for a swim
which brought new colours out.
A quick tidy up and we left the caravan for the last time, during the weekend I showed a couple around who bought it!
A very tortuous journey home followed, road closed, diversion, ques at barbers but we made it in time to feed the critters and take the dogs for a walk. A great and relaxing weekend.
