I've always tried to help people where I can and usually part company with people on good terms. This has paid off very unexpectedly as a work colleague from 11 years ago unexpectedly got back in touch and asked if I would like a no strings attached free weekend break at her luxury static at the sea.
Having established what bears do in the woods the date was set and here we are, sea view and all.
Inside was super lovely and dog free for a change.
As it was late the takeaway was found and a very pleasant supper found, alcohol free still since Jan 1st.
Dawn dawned and it was a beautiful day so we explored the holiday park
our two very happy to be on holiday and desperate to get into the arcade
so instead we hit the beach
where the usual cold water antics took place
has to be said this wasn't particularly cold.
Later in the morning we caught a boat from New Quay harbour to see if we could see the dolphins in the sea.
All very happy, even the grumpy one at the end.
He soon cheered up out on the briney.
Trouble was, no dolphin action to keep him occupied.
In fact zero dolphins at all
and even the bird colonies couldn't make up for that disappointment.
Back in harbour we consoled ourselves
with fish and chips and finally the arcade.
This was the high point of their holiday apparently.
More no alcohol.
Morning saw another trip to the beach
where we saw
the dolphins that eluded our gaze yesterday.
They also spotted a whale... rude.
We all took turns with the binos to see the wet mammals cavorting in the waves.
Rest assured dear reader they are there, you just cant see them.
The sun broke through again and
we decided a lunch carvery was called for sat in the sun.
This was the low point of the holiday as far as all were concerned.
Back home as it was a short break we took the K9s out on manoeuvres
Tash and Mrs Bear
loving the great outdoors.
Everything is starting to green up, this being 22 April not 9 May.
Mrs Bear is definitely slower
stopping more often to sniff things, not usually as wholesome or fragrant as these beauties.
The sun began to set
and we headed home again
what a great weekend.
Thank you :)
