A bit camp

Two things never fail to amaze me
firstly how time flies, so here we are again at the start of the icanfoster easter camp
and secondly how much stuff I need to take to ensure its a fun safe adventure camp.
Finally with it securely lashed down we set off.

First night was my birthday tea so we had fajitas
and toasted marshmallows.
The apprentice decided to sleep in his own tent leaving RRMK2 to settle down with Mr Stinky (not me) the massive plush axolotl. It was freezing over night a fact borne out by the ice in the morning.
Early doors
swim club
no one applied
so it was just me
and Mr Tortoise
savouring the joy of wildwater
and as the air temp was so cold
the water seemed a lot warmer than Mr Tortoise said it was.
RRMK2 hadnt stirred
and I was pretty sure the apprentice was alive in the little blue tent.
Breakfast roused them
and a game of almost cricket
before a trip to the almost fun fair
where RRMK2 demonstrated his skills at bouncing
as did the apprentice
sitting on mats was also fun
as was sitting on donkeys.
The weather was fab, the beach unlike the last time was warm and dry
and after pondering castles
another dip was done
back at camp the boys got a new air bed as mice had eaten through their other one
blowing it up was a task RRMK2 felt was beneath him.
The apprentice was feeling unwell but managed to eat a whole pizza,
RRMK2 preferred chinese, quite why we had a takeaway is too long a story but involves leaving kit on the beach and finding out 3 hours later,
Morning again
this time company
on the swim
and then we went kayaking
very proud dad moment
when the boys took a double kayak out, Mrs Bear paid a visit but avoided any boats
here are the boys.
Yours truly decided against a solo dash across the lake but had a good paddle.
Back on terra firma we watched pterodactyls swooping over the tents
before having a humungous barbeque
Dawn broke as grey as this pic
so after a swim yours truly cooked breakfast. Keef was on the camp and this was as animated as anyone saw him the whole 5 days.
RRMK2 was scoffing other peoples sweets instead of braving the elements.
After much deliberation I decided that the day was literally a washout
so we went to the cinema
watched Dungeons and Dragons again and then tracked Big Dog Pizza down
in Cirrich
and scoffed
the most amazing pizzas
thanks BD!
The TV at the campsite was really boring
so RRMK2 and me had a disco, the apprentice had gone home due to poorlyness.
Early doors and a kayak trip before anyone got up, not many pics
as I left my phone on the beach, when we finished larking about we larked some more in the water
for a final numb joy swim.
Then it was time to pack up
finish the bacon
load the trailer
and head home. Stopping only for photos
and toilets.
Back at he ranch birthday presents
and a walk
with the old ladies Tasha and Mrs Bear.
Spotty2 led the way
