 These are the last pics of Elf

 our supermum Berner as a quadruped.

 After her insane attempt to get in to Reuben resulted in a catastrophic left rear leg fail the only viable option was to have her leg amputated.

 So here she is 24 hours later lookign as bright and bouncy as ever.

 Not sure any of us would be as mobile after such drastic body part removal

 and from this pic you can see just how massive the surgery was.

 So the two of us spent the night on the sofa

 which meant one of us got little or no sleep

but at least I still have all my limbs.
