Sad but true

Mr Bear has been in a poor way for weeks now. A very brave and stoic Berner he has managed with only 3 fully functioning legs for a long time, completing his circuits of the Bonsai Mountain in his own time. But more and more he has taken to lying in one place and yelping in pain when he moved.
His hips were arthritic and he was going downhill fast.
It was a sad but true fact that it was time we let this brave dog join his mum and dad and litter mates across the rainbow bridge.
Saying goodbye was a heart breaking moment as the apprentice is old enough to more or less understand the process although his logical question if he's being put to sleep cant we wake him when hes better did take some explaining.
 After a very tearful goodbye
I held Mr Bear, like his brothers and sisters, for the last time as he took his last breath. A very peaceful painless end for a wonderful dog. Shane the nice man who gifted him back 7 years ago was contacted and we had a virtual toast to our K9 friend.
His sister Dotty doesnt look too well, Paul the vet thinks her time is limited and has prescribed better pain killers.
First tree decoration ....
