Guess whos back!

Much to my beautiful and oh so patient wifes surprise the pocket rocket wandered into the yard late afternoon looking for munchies. He tried to get round Misty but she was having none of it, she knew where the dirty stop out had been again and had only returned when he found the mares had all gone to lower pastures. He is now in the "garden" where we can keep an eye on him until the fence around the "paddock" is complete.

The pony that thinks he's a randy mountain goat......getting him 'fixed' hasn't then!

Wow, I was actually right the lack of spring grass and ponies made him come home. At least you know he knows his way home from the military ponies. Good on Misty, I won't take a cheating lover either. I think by know it's mostly just rountine for him to hump everything, than hormones. spiderlover

Come to think of it a dog we had was relieved of two items and that didn't make him less randy.......even if the vet said it would.

Well humping something also implies domiance, I mean we have a dog who still humps cats. But to him it's a show of domiance, because he got neutered at five months old before any of his sex drive developed. So I think this concept can be appled to Trevor too as well. Probably not all horses, but when you are only 33 inches tall, you take what ever you have to show your the boss. And having outrageous domiant personalities is a sign of the sheltand breed. And I think in time it will go from being in Trevor's mind from sex, to showing his domiance over others.

And it can take up to a year before an older stallion who has been gelded's hormones settle down. So we will have to see if any of Trevor's behavoir changes after the first year anniversary of his gelding. I already told Tony this fact and he wasn't thrilled at all to learn it.

Trevor also has SHS, small horse syndrome so the dominance thing is his bag. Everything from wheelbarrows, to goats to irate owner trying to carry buckets are all targets :) But we love him. Really we do.
